As part of the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum under the National Medical Commission (NMC), the third-professional MBBS Part 2 students of Santiniketan Medical College participated in a Journal Club Presentation aimed at enhancing their critical appraisal and research skills.
The event, an integral part of the self-directed learning approach emphasized in the CBME curriculum, allowed students to analyze and present recent medical literature, fostering evidence-based clinical decision-making. Faculty members played a pivotal role in guiding discussions, providing insights, and encouraging analytical thinking among students.
This initiative aligns with the CBME framework’s objective of developing lifelong learners by integrating research interpretation with clinical practice, ensuring students are well-equipped for future medical challenges.
